Our mission
The portfolio of UBS Fund Management AG consists of six listed real estate funds and two investment foundations and comprises more than 900 properties. Great importance is already attached to the issue of sustainability within UBS. The comprehensive portfolio is to be consistently managed in a sustainable manner. The goals of resource conservation, comfort enhancement and economic optimization are being pursued.
Solution
As part of the project, a sustainability strategy and an implementation concept were developed. In order to achieve the goals in the areas of environment (reduction of energy consumption, reduction of CO2 emissions, increase of the share of renewable energies), society (guarantee of comfort and safety) and economy (cost reduction), an external sustainability office was commissioned to ensure the necessary personnel resources for the implementation support on the one hand and to be able to obtain the necessary know-how on the other hand.

The sustainability strategy forms an important and binding part of both the strategic orientation and the operational day-to-day business.
pom+ took over the role of the external expert responsible for the implementation of various measures. One component for the implementation of the sustainability strategy was the sustainability scorecard (NSC) derived from the sub-goals and KPIs, which was developed by pom+ and has since been administered with the help of a project-specific IT application.
The measures implemented in the area of environment include a comprehensive operational optimization program and the implementation of numerous maintenance analyses including BIM models. In addition, an energy controlling system was set up across the entire portfolio. To raise awareness among users/tenants, user information sheets on the topics of heating, ventilation, saving electricity & water, and reducing waste were developed and distributed to over 30,000 tenants.
